Look out! No brakes!!

Well, here I am.

I'm reminded of those golden days of my youth at the roller rink. All you needed was a couple bucks and a ride to the Rollerland - where they would let you in and give you wheels for your feet. No qualifications, no license - nothing.
Strap these on - just like shoes - and you could go faster than you could run. They placed a "brake" for you right where you would want it - in the front. If you used the brake as it appeared to the casual observer how it should be used, you would find yourself sliding headfirst on tile floor... losing your skin layer by layer to a most unusual sort of squeaking sound.

Therefore, the funniest thing I could do would be skate as straight and fast as possible, then shout "Look out! No brakes!!" while wildly flailing my hands in front of me, then run into the wall around the rink - usually doubling myself over it.

I thought I was hilarious.

After about 50 times of doing that, my feet would be crammed in the front 2/3 of my skates, toes folded over on themselves - but I would be so high on sugar from a giant 3 foot long straw filled with sugar and candy bottle caps that I wouldn't even notice the pain until tomorrow.

So here I am - entering into the world of blogging - no qualifications necessary, no license required. So I set off at the highest speed I can attain, shouting things incoherently, thinking I'm funny, knowing that I will be the one to get hurt.

Also knowing that if I amuse myself in the process it will all be worth it.
